HP LJ3SI/4SI MAINTENANCE KIT INSTRUCTIONS
***** WARNING *****

Turn the printer off, unplug it. And allow it to sit for 30 minutes before performing user maintenance procedures

The following parts are included in this maintenance kit
1 RG5-0046 Fusing Assembly
1 RG5-0141 Transfer Roller
6 RF5-0041 Separation/Feed Rollers
1 RB1-0818 Transfer Roller Clip
1 RF5-0081 Duplex Roller

Fuser Installation

1 The fixing Assembly is located at the rear of the unit, just below the toner cartridge
2 Remove both paper trays then open the top cover using the release button and remove the toner cartridge
3 On each corner of the fixing unit are screw/posts that must be removed (4 Total)
4 Slide the fixing assembly to the left, and then up
5 Remove from the printer and exchange it with the remanufactured unit included with the kit
6 Install the new unit as you removed the old unit. Be careful when sliding the unit to the right that the connector is firmly inserted into the socket on the right side of the printer
7 Also check that the paper sensor flag moves freely back and forth to ensure that it has not been dislodged from its seat during installation.
8 Replace the four screws, toner cartridge and close the top cover

Transfer Roller Replacement

1 Both printer trays should still be removed from the unit
2 Open the top cover and remove the light blue plastic clip from the right side of the transfer roller and discard the clip
3 Hold the transfer roller in place and separate the black bushing to the right, then remove and discard the roller
4 With caution, install the new transfer roller by inserting the left end into the left socket
5 Push the right side bushing to the right when inserting the right end of the roller into the right end socket
6 Install the new light blue clip included with the kit.
7 Check the roller installation by rotating it back and forth
8 Verify that the gear on the left is also moving with the roller and then you can close the top cover of the printer

Pickup Roller Replacement

1 The paper trays should still be removed from the printer due to the pick up rollers that are located in the tray bays
2 Three rollers in the top tray bay and three rollers in the bottom tray bay
3 Replace the rollers by pinching the light blue retaining clips and sliding the gears off the shaft
4 Discard the old rollers and replace with the new rollers included in the kit

Duplex Roller Replacement

1 The paper trays should still be removed from the printer
2 The duplex roller is located through the lower tray bay
3 Lift the plate and roller off the bottom of the printer and slide the roller off to the right and discard
4 Replace the new roller included in the kit
5 You should feel it snap in place after aligning the slots on the roller with the posts on the shaft
6 You may now install both paper trays

Resetting the Maintenance Counter

1 Hold down the Item- and Value- keys
2 Turn printer on
3 Wait until reset maintenance count displays and then release both keys
