HP 5SI/8000/8100 MAINTENANCE KIT INSTRUCTIONS
***** WARNING *****
Turn the printer off, unplug it. And allow it to sit for 30 minutes before performing user maintenance procedures

The following parts are included in this maintenance kit
1 RG5-4447 Fusing Assembly
1 RG5-4315 Fusing Assembly (8100 Only)
1 RF5-1412 Transfer Roller (5SI/8000)
1 RF5-2675 Transfer Roller (8100 Only) (Alt. RF9-1394)
4 RF5-1834 Separation Rollers
2 RF5-1835 Feed Rollers (5SI/8000)

Fuser Installation

1 If a paper handling output accessory is installed, reposition it so that the left door is fully accessible and open left door.
2 If the duplex unit is installed, remove it by pushing down on the green tab and sliding it out.
3 Caution: Two large blue levers release the fuser, NOT the gray levers. Release the fuser by rotating the levers down.
4 Remove the fuser by lifting up on the finger handles slightly while pulling the fuser out of the printer.
5 Slide the new fuser firmly into the printer.
6 Make sure the fuser is pushed into the printer beyond the "lip" of its supporting frame and is completely seated.
7 Rotate both large blue levers up to lock the fuser in place.
8 Install the duplex unit if removed in Step 2 then close the left door.

Transfer Roller Replacement

1 Open the top cover and remove the toner cartridge.
2 Caution: To prevent damage, DO NOT touch the black foam roller with your fingers. Hold by the ends.
3 Grasp the blue gear on the left end of the transfer roller assembly and carefully lift it up just enough to clear the retainer clip.
4 Slide the transfer roller assembly to the left to release the shaft on the right end. Remove the transfer roller assembly.
5 After removing the protective packaging, place the right end of the new transfer roller shaft into the hole shown.
6 Slide the roller assembly to the right until the blue gear on the left is in place.
7 Press the left end of the shaft into the retainer clip.
8 Press the metal and black plastic transfer guide down until it snaps into place. If the guide is not seated, jams will occur.
9 Replace the toner cartridge, and close the tope cover door.

Separation & Feed Pickup Roller Replacement

1 Open Tray 2 and pull it out until it stops
2 Remove the tray by lifting the outer end while pulling the tray free of the printer. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for tray 3
3 The feed and separation rollers are accessed through the empty paper tray slots.
4 Pinch the protruding tabs and slide each roller off the shaft.
5. Slide the new rollers onto each shaft until they click into place.
6. Replace Tray 2 and 3

Resetting the Maintenance Counter

1. Press the Online or GO button so that its green indicator goes off and "OFFLINE" is displayed
2. Press the Menu button Until "CONFIGURATION MENU" is displayed. Press the item button once, so that "SERVICE
MESSAGE=ON" or "SERVICE MESSAGE=OFF" is displayed.
3. If "SERVICE MESSAGE=ON", press the + button to change ON to OFF, then press the SELECT button so the "*" appears.
4. Press the ONLINE or GO button.
